3 cups long grain rice (basmati)
1 white onion
1 red onion
1 tbsp cumin seeds
1/2 tbsp red chili powder
1/2 tbsp ground black pepper
a pinch of cardamon powder
1 stick cinnamon
1 tbsp butter
salt as required
METHOD:
- Chop all the onions into long thin slices.
- Heat the butter in a pan and add the cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamon powder,chili powder and the ground pepper.
- Immediately add the chopped onions and saute until it becomes golden brown.
- Add the rice to this and mix well.
- Pour water just enough to cover this and pressure cook it.
- It can also be cooked in a rice cooker .
- Mix the onion rice well after cooking and Serve hot!
